In other systems\, Reiki is also called prana\, chi or ki. So Reiki is nothing un- or supernatural. Although you inhale reiki with every breath\, the channel through which it also flows in through your crown narrows in the first years of life. During a Reiki initiation\, this channel is reactivated so that you can begin to pass Reiki through your hands. \nWhat does Reiki do?\nReiki helps restore the balance between mind and body. (Self)treatment with Reiki promotes healing in the physical and mental area. It helps to remove blockages\, works detoxifying\, relaxing. If there is imbalance\, which manifests itself in\, for example\, illness\, an accident or psychological problems\, the Reiki energy helps to regain balance. \nWhat is the Reiki method?\nWhen we talk about the Reiki method\, we mean the originally Japanese healing method that focuses on channeling and (usually) passing on the universal life energy (Reiki) through the hands. The method has 3 degrees where each degree represents a certain degree of openness to be a channel for Reiki. \nWhy would I want to be able to give Reiki?\nI don’t know what your life looks like but maybe you feel like you are being pulled from all sides\, sometimes you feel out of balance. In your body or in your head or in your emotions. Then it is important to make sure that you remain connected to your own energy. To make sure you are well grounded (firmly connected to the earth) and well connected to yourself. With this course you will always have Reiki at hand. Wherever or whenever you need it\, you can give yourself an extra dose of Reiki that can help your body and mind to recover. But you can also give others Reiki which can help their body and mind recover. \nWhat will I learn in the Reiki 1 course?\n\nDuring the Reiki 1 course\, you will be “tuned in” to (initiated into) the Reiki energy following the Reiki Tera Mai™ standards.
